Let me temper my review by saying that I would have probably given this place a 2 rating, were it not for the fact that they discriminate against members there and because the owner of the gym is inappropriately touchy-feely with female members. I really have never seen this kind of behavior at any other business.
You will find the gym to be sub-standard in every possible way except that the members are unpretentious. The equipment is old and dirty, many of the machines don't work, the gym floor is uneven (a lawsuit waiting to happen), and the instructors (except yoga Sean) are incompetent. In addition, the bathrooms have only two showers, which is a nightmare in the morning before work. They have an selectively-enforced policy that members should have a towel visible on the floor at all times - I was recently sent back home to get my towel when there were 3 other members in open view without towels. When I pointed this out, the response was "we can't catch them all - they go by too fast". Hmmm...I don't even know what to say to that. I assume the towel policy is intended to protect the grimy 16th century equipment but shouldn't they either make sure that ALL members comply and not just pick on some??? This is rudimentary business management and customer service 101, yes?
I picked this gym for money reasons last year and now am REALLY regretting it. I will be switching gyms as soon as possible.
