Results the Gym

Great facility, but it can be very crowded at peak hours.  The towel service is nice. 

Located near Dupont Circle, this Results is the place to be if you are a physically fit homosexual male. You don't even have to work out if you stop in--just wear something hot and socialize with friends in an atmosphere not unlike a night club with weights. Unfortunately, those who come here for exercise may have to contend with loitering groups of men obstructing access to equipment.

The upscale club tastefully combines elements of a furniture store showroom, warehouse, and modern interior design to create a truly unique atmosphere. Large industrial windows afford patrons a healthy dose of natural light. After the sun sets, however, soft "mood" lighting sets the tone. Mirrors, which cannot be wall-mounted because of the high window count, are strategically placed inside the gym's perimeter.

The equipment is rugged and the free weight selection is outstanding. Though everyone seems to pick up after themselves and, in general, the facility appears clean, closer inspection reveals dust. Cleaning solution and wipedown towels for use by members are nowhere to be found, though I am told they exist.

The ladies area is large, but the experience for women here is a little different from that at other gyms. Females who want to avoid getting hit on at the gym should join Results. But please note that as a woman here, you'll be occupying space that might otherwise be filled by an attractive male. You'll find rude members before you find yourself in a Will & Grace relationship.

In a rare show of concern for customer service, Results posts member feedback for all to see along with management's responses. The staff here seems very attentive to customer complaints.

If you're a straight male concerned about entering Results' locker room, the gym's cell phone policy should comfort you. Because so many cell phones come equipped with digital cameras nowadays, their use in either locker room is prohibited. Also of note, the lockers are so big they can house baby giraffes.
