This gym is nice, but read the contract carefully, and I suggest you find someone honest to "work out" with. The staff is mostly friendly, with the exception of the owners and managers, whom are both inconsiderate and arrogant. My advice to you is to find another, less shady gym.
As pertains to the above post:
I am currently seeking other people who have had the same or similar experience as pertaining to the month-to-month billing practices of this health club and their non-termination of memberships on failure of payment, and their practice of holding accounts open to accrue greater balances while the member is no longer using the gym, because they were not notified by mail of the termination a month in advance.
Please contact me at lordmaple@gmail.com if you have had this experience. After reading other reviews about this gym on the internet, and at the advice of a lawyer, I am currently investigating the possibility of a class action lawsuit.
This gym is a nightmare when it comes to memberships and billing. Once you sign up, don't bother trying to cancel! They will continue to bill your credit card, long after you have notified them you want it cancelled (and in my case even after I moved out of the state). The manager in Brighton is smug and unaccomodating. When presented with my ongoing billing problem he scoffed at it and directed me to the contract, even after he ensured me I would no longer be billed. Another thing--the opening of the gym in Brighton was severely delayed with the manager promising everyone it would be open shortly and they should sign up at the "discounted" joining fee of $109; when the gym finally opened, they conveniently waived this fee and snubbed everyone who had taken the manager's "advice" and had signed up early.
