Not Worth the Money
Everything about this school says traditional martial arts school. This is, if you base your opinion on old Shaw Brothers Kung Fu movies. [Employee] talks the talk about kung fu, but, alas, he doesn't walk the walk. One of the main purposes of learning a "martial"? art is learning how to use it to defend yourself. Unfortunately, that aspect of kung fu has been completely excised from [employee]'s school. To make matters worse, the class floor is overcrowded as [employee] attempts to fit 40+ students on a floor that can comfortably fit 20-25. In addition, the school costs an exorbitant amount of money. It costs approximately $150/month for two 45 minute classes a week and approximately $200/month for three 45 minute classes a week. Other schools charge $80-$120 for two or more 2-hour classes per week. It costs almost twice as much for less than half the time. That's not a cost effective solution for those seeking to attend a martial arts school. Also, those cost can and will escalate quickly. If the student wants to learn other material, it costs more money, much more money. In some cases, [employee] will devise the student's schedule without consultation. When that happens, expect your costs to increase to several hundred dollars a month. If you just want to get in shape, a gym membership is a much better solution. In a nutshell; the school is overpriced, overcrowded and the material is useless.
