Went in at 5:00 on a weekday. Was not crowded at all. Sales Rep told me that was a typical day and a typical crowd and it doesn't get worse than that.
This was in fact not true. Gym is always crowded. Always need to wait for benches/cardio equipment.
Refused to refund or allow out of contract after I complained about this.
I really enjoy working out at this gym. I never have to wait for equipment and there are many options to choose from. However, the shower stalls are filthy. I have never encountered such filth in a public facility. Bandaids, gum, qtips, and of course lots of hair remain in the stalls day after day. The staff has been non-responsive to this problem.
I reported this gym to the Pennsylvania Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau for failure to end my contract after I moved to another state. The BBB tried to mediate my complaint with World Gym, but they never responded to the BBB phone calls and letters. I wrote complaint letters (certified mail) to the location's general manager and even the CEO of World Gym - neither responded. I even challenged the unjustified dues to my credit card, but was threatened with World Gym's collections agency. They knew it wouldn't be worth my time and money to take them to small claims court in PA, so they decided to take $80 from me now instead of receiving the future business of anyone I know - smart business model.
Crowded on the weeknights, empty on the weekends.
New equipment and a lot of it.
Some of the staff and trainers lack in customer service and spend a lot of time in front of mirrors.
This establishment does not honor its side of the contract. When I moved out of state, I followed the instructions on my contract, but World Gym in Malvern continued to take dues from my checking account. After months-long discussions with their account managers, the situation has yet to be resolved.
