Alexander's Athletic Club

There are several Alexander's gyms around Pittsburgh.  After looking around town, I was shocked by the other gyms high membership fees and dingy facilities.  When I joined, there was a special (no initiation fee) plus I got an extra employee discount and an additional 2 months free.

The machines are well kept.  There is almost never a wait for them.  It only gets busy for an hour or so after work.  There are plenty of free weights but not too many meatheads.  Locker facilities and showers are nice and clean.  There is some kind of daycare/nursery so alot of families work out there.  Staff is friendly and helpful if you need to know how to use a machine.  Best of all, there isn't a feeling of intimidation for newbies.
