My family goes to the Y a lot but the front desk people (Hamilton Y) are less than nice! The adventure center doesn't watch your children closely enough and some ladies in the child care center are less than friendly! I would recommend closer supervision or ask members to do write ups on the staff members so you know which ones want to be there and which ones are just there for a paycheck!!

Nice and Sweaty
Since the expansion and addition of space and equipment, Hamilton Y is a show place. Members and staff are friendly courteous and the place is kept well clean. A few regular members are seen sweating profusely (without personal towel) and leave a puddle of sweat on floor/equipment. They should be encouraged to bring and towel themselves.

The staff is very friendly and courteous. The equipment is good. There is an indoor heated pool, sauna, and hot tub. The nearby outdoor center has another pool, tennis courts, and a field. The Hamilton Family YMCA has the best play facilities for children. The locker rooms, however, are not up to par with the other area YMCAs, but they do have several small family locker rooms in which a family can change together in private. Each one has a shower and sink.

Some Suggestions
The parking lot is dangersous because most cars speed thru parking lot. I've noticed many elderly and children coming and going. Need to post and enforce speed limit. Most front desk attendants are nice and attentive. Members are great!

unremarkable
I was unimpressed with the Hamilton YMCA. I had been visiting the Hixson "Y" and been impressed. Imagine my dismay when the two were really in no way comparable. The Hamilton "Y" staff were less than helpful, the facility seemed to be dirty in comparison to the Hixson "Y". I have almost decided to drop my membership. My tour consisted of a walk down the hall and a point to the left and right. I've never seen the locker rooms and have no idea where to find them.

always overcrowded
The Y is always overcrowded, you wait longer than you work out. Membership coordination is deplorable with frequent billing errors. Pool is frequently dirty and water unhealthy.
