My husband and I joined this gym because it offered more amenities at a lower cost than any other health club/gyms in our area. I can get in, do my workout, swim some laps, then relax in the whirlpool before showering and continuing on with the rest of my day. They appear to need a new floor in the aerobic/group workout room. The rules are a bit lax and while I don't take a workout bag onto the floor I do have small bag I carry my water workout towel and reading material in while I'm not doing any stationary cycling/treadmill. I find the multiple rooms with equipment nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is enough different types of equipment from resistance to strength to free weights in the multi-room layout to work out every inch of your body. The atmosphere is laid back and not at all intimidating. I find it an enjoyable experience overall.
This gym has stupid hours. On Friday when the lonely want to exercise, they close the pool at 8:30. The reason we go to a gym is to be able to exercise when it's convenient, not at the staff's convenience. Corporate doesn't list hours. The hours for the gym are not listed anywhere. The gym is run down. The rules are not followed. Members swim in t-shirts and frolic in the lap lane without rebuke. The staff is inflexible about closing time. Unfortunately, I live close by and have gone to this facility for a while. Can't any other gyms have swimming facilities? Hello?
This is a gym that is aged and needs attention from the corporate headquarters. It had a broken glass door in the raquetball court for months. The color scheme is from a bad dream in 1970. It usually is a bit too hot or cold depending on if it is summer or winter.
A lot of the rules posted are not followed like no street clothes, no gym bags on the workout floor.
The gym has a very polite and helpful staff in most cases. The "experts" in the red shirts are could use some customer service training. They act like they own the place, kicking dumbells around. Some forgot what the english language really is, they have such foul mouths.
I have gone here for years and overlook the orange and turquoise walls, equipment broken tags and bald foul mouthed men in red shirts. I get my workout, occasionally someone will speak up and offer a better way to exercise. I will keep going, I guess.
